In 1982 the house learned its trade where the trade was hardest to fake — Hong Kong, where a suit was cut in days and judged in minutes. What crossed the water to Bombay was not a shop. It was a discipline: the measure taken slowly, the cloth bought honestly, the fitting repeated until the garment stopped arguing.

Two generations on, the discipline is unchanged. The address is Shop 47B, Atria Mall, Dr. Annie Besant Road, Worli — but the address is the least of it.

One room, everything in it.

The atelier is not a showroom with a workshop hidden behind it. The board, the bunches, the ledger of patterns and the fitting mirror share the same air. You will hear the shears. That is deliberate — a client should see where the money goes.

Commissions are taken by appointment, one at a time, so that the measure is never hurried and neither are you.
